Why Many People Prefer Raised Toilet Seats

By Ann Jordan

Everyone wishes to have comfort while engaging in various activities. Additionally, people wish to conveniently be able to do the things they want to do. Every animal has a way of removing waste materials from its body. For instance, water and other mineral salts like urea is removed through the urination and excretion while passing stool is done through various bowel movements. It is important to properly dispose of the waste by having toilets. Water closets are often preferred because of their ability to prevent smell from coming out of toilets. In order to feel comfortable while passing waste, many people prefer having raised toilet seats because of various reasons.

You do not have to strain too much by squatting on lowly placed holes. Some people often complain of experiencing back pains whenever they squat for long durations thus the need for them to find alternatives. No one however complains of resting on these toilets since they are very comfortable making them preferred by people with back problems or the elderly.

It is not easy for water to overflow toilets which have sitting areas because of their height in comparison to toilets with no sitting surface. This protects homes many deficits that may well be experienced if water ended up filling the toilets when they get blocked. These toilets therefore play an essential role of safeguarding various items that can easily be damaged by water.

No one would want to fall in all the dirt that toilets usually have. Anyone who falls in lowly placed toilets is actually likely to get hurt in the process. On the contrary, toilets with a sitting area are designed in a manner that makes it almost impossible to slide in, unless you are standing on top of the seat, which is a primitive behavior.

It is common for households and businesses to experience blocked toilets due to accumulation of solid waste. This can be very annoying and disturbing especially for toilets that do not have a sitting area. It would even get worse if water that is flashed in these toilets does not go through since the human waste may be dispersed in the living areas. Toilets with high resting areas help households avoid such incidents.

Most toilets that have a sitting surface have a lid for covering the contents. This makes them ideal for households that may not have sufficient supply of water since you can cover the awful smell from coming out. Toilets without a resting surface do not have a lid thus can be very annoying since they emit odors when the waste is not flashed.

The air locks in toilets which have high resting surfaces make it difficult for odors to come from such toilets even in times when there are blockages. This is contrary to pit latrines and lowly placed toilets. They can therefore be placed in small houses without any discomfort being experienced by members of such households.

Toilets that have high seats are ideal for homes and small offices because it is easy to spread skin diseases if shared by many people. Raised toilet seats may sometimes be difficult to clean especially in areas that have limited supply of water. However, they make houses to appear neat and more presentable compared to their low counterparts.
