Natural Arthritis Pain Relief For Dogs

By Patrick Lewis

Both humans and dogs have problems with their joints. Arthritis pains are intensive and really uncomfortable, and you would probably want to do anything to help your loyal friend. Animals that have a few pounds too many often have such issues, especially when they come to certain age. There are different types of natural arthritis pain relief for dogs, and here are just some of those remedies.

So, you can start with different supplements. For example, those containing chondroitin and glucosamine, as well as MSM. These substances act reducing the pain and having an anti inflammatory effect. Any good vet will probably prescribe such supplements for animal suffering from arthritis, because such supplements are proven by different medical studies. They bring pain relief and promote healing.

Maybe it looks cute, but these few extra pounds can make your dog's pains worst. Less weight would relieve the pressure from his joints. Supplements containing Omega 3 amino acids will make a great difference, and they can even make your dog's coat shinier. They will reduce the inflammation and ease the pain as well. They have the ability to lubricate the joint.

Different enzymes and anti-oxidants are also great for your dog. They strengthen his immune system, and, as it is well-known by now, anti-oxidants fight free radicals and play an important role in keeping both human and dog's bodies healthy and strong. Cherry flavonoids also benefit joint's health, by strengthening collagen structures within connective tissues.

Some plants are also good in arthritis treatments, for example turmeric. This plant is good for cardiovascular system and blood circulation in damaged areas, and it promotes mobility. Different essential oils might also be quite useful in this. Just a few minutes of a gentle massage could make a great difference and ease the pain. Don't forget to provide some soft bed for your sick pet.

Swimming is the best thing you can do for painful joints. It is much easier to move while in water, but it should not be cold, of course. There are vet clinics that offer special treatments for dogs, that include swimming in warm water, and, if you can afford such treatment for your furry friend, maybe you should consider it. Warming the joint using IR lamp could also be quite useful.

Acupuncture is another idea you might find really useful. It is proven that acupuncture treatment bring relief from arthritis pains, but they can also promote blood circulation in the area surrounding the joint, and this might provide long-term effects, strengthening the tissues that support this painful part. It takes a few weeks to get the first good results, but it is worth it.

So, don't you think you should do whatever is needed to help your loyal dog and to ease his pains. These amazing animals are so lovable, so obedient and they love you unconditionally all their lives, they really deserve to get what they need. Help them, but don't do anything without consulting an expert. They cannot receive the same doses as people, your vet should calculate the doses first.
