Learning The Famous Alexander Technique

Most people today are so stressed because of the past paced lifestyle of the society today which is why many people seek ways on how to relieve this tension. One of the best methods in which one can relieve some of his tension would from the very famous alexander technique. It is one of the most effective techniques when it comes to calming both the body and the mind.

Now Frederick Matthias Alexander, who at that time was a known Australian actor, was the one who first discovered this method. He was actually a laryngitis patient who could not find any cure because medical facilities were not very advanced at that time. He somehow found out that the problem that was causing his laryngitis was neck tension which he was eventually able to cure with some simple exercises.

Now the main belief of people who teach this method is that the muscles of the body tend to develop habitual movements. It is because of these movements that the muscles would tighten. Of course because of muscle tightening that one would feel pain.

Now when one would enroll in a class, the teacher will first check out the condition of his body. Of course before any exercises, teachers must know the body type of their students to see what is suitable. The teachers will then be advising their students while letting them do the exercises.

Now just so one would know, this is not a painful exercise and is not at all strenuous to the body. In fact, it is actually quite relaxing as it would only involve short and relaxing movements that one would be doing in his everyday life. This is actually unlike any other type of exercise wherein one would have to make a lot of movements and where he would have to sweat a lot.

Now some of the things that one will be doing would be walking, running, sitting down, standing up, or any other body movements that he does normally. While he does this, the teachers will be checking his body to see if there are some body parts tightening anywhere. If there are, then the teachers will be advising the students as to what they can do and what changes they are supposed to make with their body movements.

Now the main benefit that one would get from these kinds of exercises would of course be lesser body aches. Now for those who often have body aches in the back, in the head, in the legs, or anywhere else, this method will definitely be great for him. At the same time the exercises of this method would also be able to help lessen stress which means that this method can actually help both physically and mentally.

So basically those are some things one will be learning in these classes. Schools that teach this technique have spread very far in the United States over time. In fact, a place with a lot of schools is none other than NYC or New York City.
