By Patty Goff

The spark of numerous progress in modern science gave us the chance to live not only a healthier life, but also a longer one. Countless diseases were cured by highly researched medicines and discoveries, yet hundreds still suffer. Our war against medical affliction is going and endless. But there is always hope and answer by means of prevention.

One of the most common health issue for both men and women is the presence of spider veins on their bodies. They are dilated superficial blood cells that are commonly found on the eyes and legs. It may be impossible to get rid of them completely, but a number of treatments are now widely available. My aunt in Texas who is fifty two years old now got them primarily because of her age, but she is fortunate because spider vein treatment Austin is present.

Everything went on her plan after her doctor performed sclerotherapy on her affected areas. Sclerotherapy is one of the leading solution for spider veins. This treatment requires a sclerosant to be force into the damaged veins making it go away once it hardens.

Her doctor injected a solution into her veins to close it. She was very happy about the results because hers faded quickly within a month. However, my aunt suffered minor itching and skin discoloration around the area. She did not mind about the side effects because it was effective for her. In other cases, more session is required just to get rid of it and sometimes it just does not work.

Those concerns led other people to look for another solution. One of which is the use of laser therapy. This therapy is great for people who are not comfortable with injections and for those who had smaller ones because lasers can do a better job in finding them.

Laser surgery is a good alternative for people who are afraid of needles and injections. In this method, no lacerations of any kind is done to the skin. Also, this is a more appropriate choice for smaller veins because they are more difficult to inject.

Spider veins are generally considered as an aesthetic issue, so anyone can leave them alone. But, if one values it but is not comfortable in undergoing surgeries, prevention is the key. There are a number of habits that helps in avoiding it.

There are a number of measures that helps its prevention such as eating the right kind of foods. Foods that are high in vitamins K and C helps a lot in blood circulation. Of course, nothing beats exercise as an effective way in the prevention of any health related problems. A fifteen minute walk may suffice. It will exercise the muscles in your legs, thus improving the flow of blood in your lower body.

This condition commonly caused by old age and is seen most likely in women. Improper blood circulation, sedentary lifestyle and heredity are also considered as causes. Because of these, not all cases can be stopped easily. Available treatments are not always effective, so following some of the easy ways to prevent it is still better.
