Underwater Games For Pool Parties

By Harriet Porter

If one is hosting a pool party for kids, it is always good to have some fun activities for the kids to play in order to keep the party interesting. One of the best things to do would be to come up with some underwater games for the kids to be able to play. For those who are new to these kinds of things, here are some ideas that may work quite well.

Of course a very classic game for this kind of event would of course be the diving for the prize game. Basically, the host will just be throwing a certain object into the pool for all the participants to try to get. Of course the first one who is able to retrieve that item and bring it out of the pool would be the winner of the game.

Now another old game that many kids would play would be holding the breath under the water. Basically, the participants would just have to go down underwater and just hold their breaths. Now the one who is able to hold his breath the longest time will be the winner.

Now there is one challenging game wherein the participants would have to do a handstand. This is of course known as the underwater handstand contest and is somewhat based on the handstand that the synchronized swimmers would be doing when they are doing their routines. Of course the winner will be the participant who is able to do the handstand the longest.

One of the very classic games to play under the water would of course be underwater tag. Everyone is probably familiar with the game that is known as tag wherein there will be an it and the others have to run away from the it. The it on the other hand has to tag someone else before that person reaches the safe zone.

Now just like the original game, the rules of this version of tag would also apply but the only difference would be the setting. Now instead of a park or a school field, the participants will be in a pool where they have to swim and dive to try to get away. There will also be safe zones in the area near the pool for those running away.

The last game on the list would be diving for treasure. Now this game would just involve tossing a few coins or some other objects into the pool for the participants to get. Now each object would have its own designated number of points and the one who has the most number of points after collecting the objects will win.

So for those who are hosting a pool party for kids, these ideas may be able to help out. What would make these games really fun is the fact that they can be quite a challenge to the children there. The more strenuous the activities are, the more tired they can become and actually the more satisfied they can be.
