The Importance Of Joint Supplements.

If this is the case in a developed country like the UK where one gets the best of facilities, one can only shudder at the phenomenon all over the world.

During the middle of 2004, my right knee started aching and over the time, became increasingly swollen. the swelling and intense pain made it difficult for me to walk up and down the stairs without support.

Exercising and proper diet is essential to reducing joint pain but even these have little effect once the situation has aggravated. Luckily for man, science keeps coming up with new inventions and one of it many creations include joint supplements.

These drugs specially manufactured to tackle joint problems play the role of reversing the degenerative effect impacting the joints. The most popular of all these joint care supplements is Glucosamine. It is a natural substance found in the cartilage cells of our body but is known to slowly erode with time as the body undergoes wear and tear. Glucosamine which is manufactured from both shellfish and corn works towards repairing the damaged cartilage and additionally plays a key role in improving joint lubrication.

Another of the joint supplements which is in popular demand is Chondroitin. It is basically a protein substance manufactured from shark cartilage. The supplement provides more insulation between the bones of painful joints and this is done by improving the overall elasticity of the joints.

Furthermore, joint supplements containing Omega 3 oils have proven to give arthritis patients a new lease of life. Research is also yielding new joint care products such as the Avocado and Soybean unsaponifiables which can be used to treat specific problems such as knee and hip pain. But investigations continue to remain in the nascent stages and further studies will be required to know more about their potential.

However presently it has been seen that supplements that contain both Glucosamine and Chondroitin are the most effective and these have proven especially successful in treatment of diseases such as osteoarthritis. In general, these joint care products have varying prescriptions but their span of usage commonly varies between 3 to 6 months.

Since then, I am able to run, hike and even jog hills with my children. I play tennis, basketball, badminton and I can move and carry objects over 50 pounds without difficulty. I don't have to carry my daughter anymore, but I am glad being able to be there when she needs me.

In addition, massaging the affected joints everyday and restraining from picking up heavy loads are some of the other things you need to do in order to keep your joints in good condition.
