Vital Safety Information To Consider When Applying Intensity Twin Stim III

By Cornelia Reyes

InTENSity Twin Stim III is a device used as a pain reliever by the physicians. It should be used with caution and only in specific areas of the skin. It can also be used for electrical muscle stimulation. It has a stimulator which sends electrical currents to the nerves and the muscles underlying in the area where the patient if feeling pain through the electrodes which are applied in the skin area.

The following are the significant information to consider when using it. It is recommended that only licenced physicians should use it on the patients. This is because those who are not doctors may end up using it in places which is recommended and for relieving pain which is also recommended. It not recommended for use on patients who are pregnant as the electric current may case miscarriage of the pregnancy.

It must not also be used on a pregnant woman since the inventors are yet to provide safety measures to ensure when using it on a pregnant woman. If it is used, it can lead to miscarriage of the pregnancy.

This is for the reason that the electric electrons are likely to cause breathing difficulty to the patient. It must also not be applied transthoracally as this may introduce some electric currents to the heart. As a result of the introduction of the electric current to the heart, the patient will suffer from cardiac arrhythmias.

The other important to note that power output of InTENSity Twin Stim III may be affected if it is used in the same place where there is microwave and shortwave therapy equipment. Therefore the physician should ensure that it is used in a place free from any interference from any equipment. The environment for its use is another thing to consider. The environment should be one which is free from moist such as the washrooms.

When the patient is connected to surgical equipment with high frequency, the device must never be used on their skin. This is for the reason that it is used, the patient is likely to suffer from burnt skin injuries caused by the electric current from the device. If it has to be used in the patient, the surgical equipment must be disconnected first or the frequency reduced.

If it is used in the in areas surrounded by either microwave therapy equipment or shortwave therapy equipment, there is likelihood that its output power will be affected. Therefore it must not be applied within the areas surrounded by the microwave and shortwave therapy equipment. Areas with high humidity in the environment such as the bathrooms must also be avoided.

This is for the motive that the device emits electric current which may react with the moisture on the skin are and cause injury. Electric currents should never be exposed to any moisture on even to a wet skin of the patient. The device should also be kept out of reach of children. These are some of thesSignificant safety information to consider when applying InTENSity Twin Stim III
